The purpose of this research was to identify those attitudes and practices.  The method employed to investigate this thesis was case study research of two church planting ministries among Muslim Filipinos.  This was done through a questionnaire and follow-up interviews.  This research identified attitudes such as faith, biblical optimism, and humility as helpful attitudes in church planting. The author offers a biblical structure for outreach based on the Book of Ruth, promoting a model for ministry where people claim one another with courageous kindness. Growth was determined from membership, worship attendance, and professions of faith data from 2000 to 2003. A researcher-created survey instrument recorded Internet use. The data yielded the following observations. Churches with higher growth rates exhibiting higher Internet use rates. Growing churches were four times more likely to host a web site than average. Pastors of growing churches use technology that can be adapted for ministry at a higher rate than average. The author researched GenXers and their view of the church and met regularly with a group of 22 unchurched Xers. This paper tells the story of an interfaith pilgrimage between a pastor and his people that transformed them all. It offers guidance and a model of how churches can be part of the solution, instead of the problem, in interfaith relations. The training of the 14 pastors took place in Nairobi, Kenya, in September 2002. The group had one year to put the principles learnt into practice. The class met twice after the one-year period to reevaluate the ten principles they had previously learnt. The project proved that it was possible to plant churches using the ten leadership principles gathered from Paul's speech at Miletus. 5 new churches were planted and the other 9 that had existed before this project began grew by 33% to 185%. The desired outcome was to begin a process of changing our church's general friendliness to an intentional atmosphere of welcoming through a fifty-day emphasis on hospitality. This was accomplished by an informal introductory worship service, seven worship services, six Bible studies, and a seminar for each of our three church boards.
