Understanding this teaching can help Christian believers orient themselves around the values and purposes of the kingdom.  The director designed an eight session study manual and preached four sermons on the kingdom of God and its implications for people's lives.  He used a focus group, tests and questionnaires to measure the effect of the study on the participants. The ability to utilize music appropriately and skillfully is instrumental in bringing about an awareness of the manifested presence of God during worship. The context of this ministry model is a private school at Gravel Run Baptist Church in Dinwiddie, VA. Students were the same age, grade level, culture, and received similar courses of study. Student and parent interviews were also done to obtain deeper insight. The context of the ministry model was an inner-city church in the mid-Atlantic region. The method used a one-group pretest-posttest instruction design that was evaluated through questionnaires, in-process evaluations compose of open- and closed-ended questions, and attendance measurements. The study focused on the Gospel of John and the communication of five doctrinally specific messages, which were preached to a congregation of military men and women, Department of Defense workers, retirees, and their families. Each resulting data profile was analyzed to confirm that the selected church model matched the church planter and his mission field context. The author researched biblical and other historical revivals, as well as other revival literature. A theology of revival was derived from Scripture and a plan to stir a hunger for revival was developed from that theology.  The plan that was implemented focused primarily on the word of God and prayer.
