The pastor has a wonderful opportunity to stand alongside of these durign a most difficult time in their lives. The project is presented in five sections including why this is a necessary ministry, a survey of the literature, interviews with persons who have cared for a terminally ill person, and recommendations as to further studies. This study evaluates the methodology used in the delivery of a character-based program focused on universal principles in the context of relationships among public high school students at North Cobb high school in Kennesaw, Georgia.  While not an exhaustive study of character education, this study explores a successful method of facilitating character development.  Three research questions have guided this study: 1. What was the level of character in the target group at North Cobb high school at the beginning of the program? 2. How did the level of character change in the target group at North Cobb high school because of the program? 3. What was the quality of treatment given? Two groups were formed by self-selection from the Indiana, Michigan, and Ohio tristate area of the Church of God (Anderson). One group participated in an anger-reduction workshop and the other group served as a control group. Levels of anger and burnout were measured in both groups before and after the workshop intervention.  Classic hostility and anger studies over the past five decades served as the foundation for the study. From the discovery of Type A behavior in the 1950s, research has identified anger (hostility), along with stress, as primary factors in coronary heart disease. Developing from this base, the study measured the effect of the Lifeskills intervention on anger reduction, and its relationship to the slowing of burnout. The study revealed a significant positive correlation between the reduction of anger and burnout. Although the study sample represents only 3.9% of the total population, a trend is indicated that begs further investigation.  The Lifeskills intervention workshop proved moderately successful in raising self-awareness, offering practical and usable coping strategies, and helping participants to reduce their level of anger, as well as their level of burnout. A sermon series on the doctrine of covenant may positively influence the practice of the discipline of prayer in the lives of those who seek a deeper walk with God.  The researcher chose to preach this series in the genre of first person biblical characters.  This study describes how the researcher presented a sermon series to a local church congregation utilizing responses from the congregation and a small group to measure changes, if any, in cognitive and/or behavioral practices in their practice of prayer.  This is an evaluation study in the experimental mode which uses a pre- and post-test design.  Two procedures were used to evaluate the effectiveness of the intervention. 1. A qualitative approach involved the use of interview, anecdotes taken from informal conversation, and comments by the participants in the small group.  2. A quantitative approach was utilized which involved the structure of prayer scale developed by Luckow, Ladd, Spilka, McIntosh, Parks, \u0026 Laforett.
