The author's goal is to integrate theology with counseling theory in the form of curriculum. To achieve this balance, the project director wrote a twelve-unit course on Christian doctrine that he taught in ten settings. The director used verbatims, tests, and surveys to evaluate the ministry intervention. The objective was accomplished through a blended approach of research, sermon series, and training sessions. This dissertation proposes that pastors conscientiously plan and present corporate music accessing insights from educational theory. Pastors in three churches of different sizes and demographics in the San Francisco Presbytery were interviewed. Hundreds of pastors and educators from Canada and the United States were interviewed in groups.  Literature was reviewed in the fields of the theology of music; educational theory; music the Reformed tradition, and current socio-cultural trends. Finding ways to ease the fear of change can help people be more receptive to learning.  Provide information in a variety of ways.  Involve people in the interpretive process. The theoretical foundation for the study is in adult education and examines concepts of experiential and transformative learning, processes of meaning-making and the social construction of the self, as well as the centrality of narrative and autobiography in personal learning. Theological reflections focus on the social and historical conditions of learning in the Christian community, the narrative structure of faith, and the contributions of both narrative and biographical theology to an understanding of Christian identity and change. The research methodology used is qualitative case study guided by Mishler's narrative approach to research interviewing. Five participants were interviewed with an attempt at gender equity and variety in denominational attachment. Results reveal the intense relationship between personal change, vocational identity and ministerial practice. The study demonstrates the extent to which lifelong themes were translated into ministerial practice, how trauma impacted the learning process, and the contribution of faith to learning. Kirk of the Hills, a PCA church in St. Louis, Missouri, is currently using the model for pastoral care as proposed for large churches.  Questionnaires were completed by those in leadership and by active church members to determine the degree of effectiveness of pastoral care. The student was then to present the strategy to the administration of the New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary (NOBTS).  The project was to develop a strategy that would increase the likelihood that graduates of NOBTS would become financial supporters of the institution.  Among the hundreds of thousands of titles that have been published that related to fund-raising in higher education, little material was available that was specific to this area of research.  This area of research was concentrated on how other institutions of higher education were developing currently enrolled students so they will eventually become financial supporters of the institution.  A group of development directors at select schools were interviewed by the project director. Each director was asked the same series of questions that related to how they raised money.  Each was asked specifically about how they were attempting to instill a sense of responsibility for the institution in their currently enrolled student body.
