It examines the relationship between a military chapel and the biblical understanding of a New Testament local church. The purpose-driven church paradigm is offered as a viable strategy for leading a military chapel effectively and with studied intention. The research question addressed in this paper is: To what extent will the reincorporation of traditional Brethren in Christ discipleship practices into the life of the contemporary church produce an increase in spiritual passion? As measured by the Natural Church Development survey, results were not encouraging. The objective was facilitated through a strategic sermon series with 'dig-deeper' discussion sessions, reflection sessions, and a vision celebration service. Research and evaluation was conducted through congregational questionaires and response forms.
