This project develops a model for religious education based on the basic Christian community.  Eleven intergenerational communities in a suburban parish are given an inductive curriculum that enables them to share faith within a setting that supports faith-filled living. Leadership training and liturgical and social celebrations are an integral part of the process. This paper helps fill this gap with a six week structured workshop for remarried couples with blended families. Paramount to this principle of dialogue is self-disclosure, which is made possible through the mutual sharing of meanings from the life experiences of both the proclaimer and the hearer. The course stressed intentional planning and correct use of the financial and other resources which God has entrusted to the clergy.  It dealt with resource management needs of all families and the special concerns of clergy families.  The project and its seminar resulted in significant experiences for many of the participating families. Followers of Christ are called to the ministry of diakonia.  Diakonia can be fulfilled in a partnership of the local church and local welfare agencies. In a cooperative effort, the Hall County Department of Family and Children's Services join with lay volunteers who are placed in direct service to parents who physically abuse their children.  Volunteers develop trust relationships to renew self esteem, decrease social isolation and enhance capacity for coping with stress. The author recruits six United Methodist pastors to participate in a retreat and three reflection sessions.  Comparisons of pre-project and post-project impressions of participants indicate a genesis of community. Post-reflection reports reveal expanded insights into pastoral situations. The project was designed as a microcosm of the United Methodist connectional and itinerant ministry. It included a district superintendent as a representative of the appointed hierarchy.  These clergy-persons represented a broad spectrum of types of appointments, race, gender and age.  Their formal theological training and theological orientation represented five different seminaries.  Approximately forty hours were spent exploring, testing and attempting to experience a Christian covenant community.
