Questionnaires were sent to over two hundred interested persons.  Study groups took the information and concluded that the greatest needs of the directors of associational missions and their wives relate to isolation.  Support groups were enlisted in four associations.  The design of the support meeting included planned activities to break down barriers, share and prayer time and informal conversation and games. Four seminars held in the fall of 1986 were designed to explore how people age and how adult children can cope effectively with their parents in the new relationship which aging creates. The seminars included one session on understanding the aging process, another on relating to aging parents, a third on caring for aging parents and a fourth on available community resources. The experimental group participated in a five hour training seminar.  Both groups took an objective test. Each member of the groups was evaluated as he or she led a decision-making encounter.  A comparison of the scores of the experimental and control groups was the basis of the project evaluation. The author selected eight people from the church for training and sought to inculcate within them the need to do personal evangelism. The trainees were required to participate in three field practices: people search visits, street evangelism and home visits.  Eight persons also were recruited as members of a control group.  They filled out the same questionnaires taken by the trainees before and after training. Aids such as books, audiotapes, weekly meetings and a guide were provided.  Research included an initial interview, an interim evaluation and a final evaluation (written and oral). The project explored the need for such training and the reasons for the high rate of alcoholism and the growing number of suicides.  It discovered that the Cherokee pastor is the key to helping his people.  The author examined the biblical background for crisis counseling with alcoholic and suicidal persons and laid a theoretical foundation to equip pastors to minister to such persons.  The major emphasis of the project was the procedures used in selecting and training a core group of pastors in strategic areas of the Cherokee Nation.  The team concentrated on three major areas of concern in their preparation for enlarged Christian ministry. The main focus of the course is sermon preparation rather than the actual sermon itself.  In an effort to improve the enjoyment and productivity of the sermon preparation experience the course explores creativity and the creative process and uses methods and techniques designed to enhance the preacher's creativity. The paper explores the concept of creativity from biblical, theological and psychological perspectives. The project consisted of the work of a design team of nine people from the congregation which included the pastor-author. Can the Psalter continue to be our 'School of Prayer' and teach pastor and congregation how to pray? Can the Psalms be listened to as the Word of God?  Can the constant and strong appearance of praise and joy in the Psalms transform congregational worship and bring greater awareness of God's presence and person?  The long and significant faith tradition shows that the Psalms do indeed speak for us to God and to us from God.
