The writer met weekly for six weeks with each of four volunteer directors.  Each supervisory session was structured to cover specific learning assignments for both the volunteer and the supervisor.  Various instruments facilitated each learning activity, including planned reading, skills development, and a covenant for ministry and supervision.  The writer developed supervision skills in listening, communication, and planning.  The volunteers received training through collaborative inquiry and ministry examination. This links campus and parish ministries in taking advantage of the model for community life, spiritual growth and service.  A model of this kind of nurturing ministry and analysis of its inherent Christian value forms the basis of this study.  The model is limited to ministry to and with students, not the total academic community.  It is a new plan of ministry that involves the local parish, campus ministry, student and local clergy. The project describes the course 'Making Meaning' used in the practicum experience and presents biblical, historical and sociological background on the theme of vocation, along with current resources on faith development and the adult life cycle. It is laid out in 12 one hour sessions with suggestions for other time arrangements. It is a transfer of information effort that provides a method of evaluating the results of the instruction.  The course of study includes content from biblical, theological and historical fields. Coalition is an interdenominational organization based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, which began in 1971.  At issue is the question whether Coalition's ministries are compatible with a Presbyterian understanding of ministry.  A comparison of Coalition's ministry with a Presbyterian understanding of ministry finds substantial compatibility except in the area of accountability.
