The moratorium on experimentation signalled by the new canon law prompts critical assessment of such councils in this project, using data from minutes, survey, and participant observation. To consider only liturgical presiding seems to neglect a holistic understanding of presiding. Five case studies of pastors in the local church of Greensburg, PA provided the core content of the research.  The comparative analysis surfaced the following three agreements.
