Northern Thai Christians provide insight into traditional and biblical phii and the  project assesses the influence of traditional spirit concepts on biblical understanding.  According to Thai Christian understanding, traditional phii and biblical demons are not related, but during Christian exorcism traditional concepts play an important role. An appended commentary in English helps foreigners understand the background of the Taiwanese worldview.  In the study, the meaning of life, four life-line figures, the view of deity, morality and life are illustrated.
