This church developed a social outreach ministry that called for auxilaries of the church to be assigned to a social agency or not-for-profit community outreach to provide stewardship of time, talent, and/or money.  The African American tradition of kinship inspired this study. Dealing with juvenile delinquency is a major problem.  The program was set to serve 50-75 students.  Students were given tutorial help, recreational opportunities, cultural exposure, and counseling opportunities during the summer and after school in the spring and fall of 1988 and 1989.  The students, volunteers, and church members were surveyed to ascertain whether of not the project was successful.
