He led the seminars introducing the prayers to 183 members of Jooan Methodist Church, Incheon, South Korea, in which most members were not accustomed to the diverse prayer forms. This has not enhanced communal endeavors.  The author suggests that each category alone is insufficient.  Both approaches are needed to further the ideal of a naturally balanced life, personally and communally.  Grounding contemplation/action in a process that is dynamically and fundamentally part of the human condition, the author offers insights into activist, Dorothy Day, and monastic, Thomas Merton.
