Members of the congregations were surveyed following six sermons on Romans 12 and five sermons on Old Testament heroes. Additionally, participants attended a two-day retreat and completed pre- and post- surveys. The results of the survey confirmed that daily worship should be a prerequisite to church leadership. The author accomplished this in telling the sustained stories of twelve saints and inviting spiritual practices each day for twelve weeks. In the case studies in three United Methodist congregations, participants engaged the material and answered questions before and after the study. Each principle was developed from exegesis of relevant selections of Scripture.  A worship project of five and one-half months involved the membership of the First Baptist Church, Laramie, Wyoming, as a test for the use of the principles.  Based on the response from worship surveys and use of worship guides, the principles were determined as valid for application in the three stated categories.
