The project administers a Congregational Systems Inventory and facilitates discussion about church dynamics. On the basis of that discussion church leaders divide into small groups to compose mission statements defining the mission and purpose of the congregation, and the larger group then reconciles the work done in the small groups to produce a common statement. Chapter 2 presents a biblical rationale for the research by using 1 Corinthians as an example of a church that had experienced transition.  Chapter 3 presents the behavioral and social science data that support the ministry project research on family systems.  Chapter 4 describes the implementation of the ministry project and the criteria that led the author to his conclusions.
