The goals of this project were assessed by using a five-point agreement scale and three qualitative questions. The findings of the data revealed that the participants gained an ability to identify their core longing wounds and an understanding of how their wounds inhibit their ability to experience God's love. Specific spiritual disciplines were practiced in the group. This project contains research of the Bible as well as writings and theology of spiritually mature people through the centuries.  Participants learned and practiced twelve spiritual disciplines, sharing their experiences in a small group, for fourteen weeks. It emphasized a biblical understanding of God's true identity, the value God placed on people individually and the experience of contemplative prayer.  All eight participants demonstrated growth in their deepening experience of God's love for them.
