He also used electronic means to gather the information needed for the writing of this document. The research proves Whitefield's doctrinal preaching content was a primary factor for why God used him so mightily in the Great Awakening era and beyond contrary to common misinterpretations for his success. A six-week preaching series presented the six principles to our church and included evaluative surveys analyzed in this project. The categories for this descriptive analysis include their homiletic structures, strategies for interpreting the Bible and its uptake in the delivery of a sermon, and observations concerning actual sermon delivery.  Having analyzed and described these styles of preaching, the project author further engages them through an exercise of replication whereby these particular styles are imitated in sermons composed by the project author and preached to a congregation-based focus group. Its purpose was to qualitatively explore, using surveys, focus group and sermon analysis, the place of each of the proofs in informing the communicative bridge building of sermons among evangelical English-speaking pastors and missionaries in Peru. The study was a descriptive, correlational study utilizing researcher-designed questionnaires and closing interviews.  Congregational members from ten evangelical churches located in the two largest cities in Kenya, Nairobi and Mombasa, responded to a twelve-question congregational survey.  Fifty-four leaders responded to a sixteen-question pastoral and leadership survey.  Closing interviews with ten pastors added greater insight into the perception of the significance of biblical preaching to church growth.
