The project seeks to address the problem by presenting a seminar that equips pastors to integrate best practices in preaching and leadership. To ascertain these practices the author studied the biblical and theological foundations of preaching and leadership and historic and contemporary voices in the tradition of Reformed Presbyterianism and Westminster Theological Seminary. Also, Christians, without understanding that Christ is in charge of ordo salutis, are struggled with living out Christian faith. This project, based on Reformed theology that 'union with Christ' strikes a balance between historia salutis and ordo salutis and helps Christians understand that their historia and ordo salutis are assured by their union with Christ, helps preachers preach both historia salutis and ordo salutis and Christians rely on Jesus united with them for their Christian life. In order to enhance Christ-centered preaching, which has been considered as sound biblical way of preaching in Reformed tradition, two concrete issues should be regarded. First, the imbalanced preaching between historia salutis (redemption accomplished, salvation per se, indicative) and ordo salutis (redemption applied, salvation sitz im leben, imperative), even in Christ-centered preaching, can be moralistic without historia salutis or be antinomian without ordo salutis. Second, many Christians are struggled with their Christian life. Sermon without the fact that Christ is in charge of the Christian life (ordo salutis) can drive many Christians to rely on their own decision, effort, moralistic approach, humanistic approach, systematic education, etc.Reformed theology teaches that 'union with Christ' is the answer. Because  'union with Christ' is a linchpin to hold together and strike a balance between historia salutis and ordo salutis, the 'union with Christ' concept can help Christians understand that their salvation per se (historia salutis) and their life as Christian (ordo salutis) are only confirmed and assured by their union with Christ.  Given, with the concept of 'union with Christ,' pastors in preaching can provide the two aspects of salvation in balance in order to give the congregation the right concept of salvation both accomplished and applied in Christ. In addition, the concept, explained and mentioned during preaching, can help congregation rely on Christ alone who provides everything they need to live out their Christian faith in their life contexts. The Bible uses many different motivations to move Christians towards obedience, such as the promise of rewards and the threat of consequences. Some of these motives do not seem 'Christ-centered' to some at first glance and thus are often neglected by so called 'Christ-centered' preachers. This study utilized a qualitative design using semi-structured interviews with five pastors in the Reformed Church in America. The review of literature and analysis of the five interviews focused on three key areas of motivations in preaching. Postmodern authors have noted a significant change in Western culture, affecting world view and specifically denying the existence of an over-arching explanation of reality known as metanarrative. This study employed a qualitative research design interviewing twelve Teaching Elders of the PCA. The findings revealed a strong commitment to the Reformed value that scripture alone is sufficient as a source for the content of sermons. The study used a narrative questionnaire of nearly one hundred Reformed pastors throughout the United States and semi-structured interviews with four additional pastors preaching from within a Reformed theological understanding.  The study revealed a heavy reliance on writing in both the preparation and delivery of sermons.  It found that both pastors and congregants deeply care about sermon delivery.  Multiple approaches to this practice were uncovered, influenced by the preacher's habit, personality, theological beliefs, and training.  A high percentage of pastors lacked training in sermon delivery. The context of this project is a Presbyterian congregation in Chicago which includes African immigrants, African Americans, Euro-Americans, persons with chronic mental illness and those whose quirkiness has avoided medical detection. The author explores how people who are displaced from their cultures and/or families of origin experience the church as 'home'. The project examines discussions by groups in the author's congregation who engage in specific practices, and discloses the way participation in these practices prepares these groups to hear, comprehend, and appropriate the message of related
