The study is based on a Factor Analysis of 155 questionnaires, gathered from individuals who attend 12 UCC churches and one conference. It reveals that dual-paycheck families do not value any function of a church's ministry more than single-paycheck families.  It also reveals that the more one is involved in church activities, the more one values all church activities. The research is informed by a critical review of adult development theories and by theological images appropriate to middle adulthood.  The method includes a written questionnaire.
