The author considers the question: Is the Western understanding of spiritual formation appropriate to the majority world? Three cultural differences are compared: individualism/communalism, time/events and literate/sensate learning styles. The project focused on immigrants who had become related to The International Church of the Metroplex (TICOM).  Separate practicum discussion groups of immigrants and Americans and a random survey indicated that even though they had had negative experiences, especially of rejection from white churches, the immigrants had kept their Christian faith intact.  The practicum also revealed that it was a lack of contact and interaction between the Americans and the Third World immigrants which was responsible for  their fear and mistrust of one another. The right interpretation of ancestral worship became a hot issue in the history of the Korean Church.  This project cultivated a practical theory of ancestral worship according to the biblical, theological, and liturgical perspectives of Christianity.  The project searched and analyzed the problem of ancestral worship through a questionnaire which was addressed to the ministers in rural, urban, and metropolitan areas.
