The project looks at selected accredited theological institutions and Hispanic-Latino community-based training programs.  It also gathers by questionnaire data from selected pastors, teachers, and students on ministry training for Hispanic-Latino church leaders.  As a result all three groups of respondents (pastors, teachers, and students) believe that academic training and a curriculum grounded in the culture and experiences of our people is very important for the task of leadership training. The project consisted of a focus group of thirteen pastors participating in a workshop forum. A quantitative research design was used with pre and post-tests. The study examined combat experiences, vocational choices, depth relationships, and current ministry settings.  Results showed strong relationship between encounters with death or shattering of values and decisions to enter ministry. Results showed strong relational stability and hearing of posttraumatic stress disorder. Results indicate failure of seminaries to assist incoming students in task of integrating combat experience and religious vocation. They provided data which proved this hypothesis: given the opportunity, ELC-PNG ministers and administrators can realistically reflect their socio-religious situations, accurately describe their needs in ministry and thereby develop continuing education programs to meet those needs.
