This single-group, pretest-posttest design analyzed quantitative and qualitative data. Participants (n=11) did show a significant gain in knowledge of ways to practice the Lord's presence.  While almost 75% of the participants provided qualitative data indicating a gain in intimacy, participants did not demonstrate significant gains in intimacy on the quantitative questions. Its purpose was to qualitatively explore, using surveys, focus group and sermon analysis, the place of each of the proofs in informing the communicative bridge building of sermons among evangelical English-speaking pastors and missionaries in Peru. The participants in the research were elders in congregations of the Reformed Church in America where the pastor had served at least ten years.  A questionnaire allowed those elders to rank eight areas of ministry and to give an indication of the health of the pastoral relationship.
