After a review of biblical, theological, and psychological literature, the lay board members of six selected churches were surveyed for demographic information, opinions regarding volunteerism, and theological beliefs. The pastors of those six churches were personally interviewed regarding the same items. The study concentrates on finding the basic needs of families by way of a community survey.  The findings of the survey resulted in the development of several possible responses a local church can make in meeting the needs of families. To reach out effectively it was discovered that people within the church needed to be equipped to do the work of ministry. A theological examination of renewal and giftedness precedes a history of renewals since the Reformation.  The origin, structure and development of the Presbyterian Church follow. The purpose of this project is to discover the factors contributing to rapid Korean church growth through research questionnaires and personal interviews. The study featured a historical sketch, recent controversy, CC-CC views, various opportunities in ministry found in the army chaplaincy.  A conclusion was followed by an appendix which surveyed 1,000 Protestant army chaplains reference their attitude toward the army chaplaincy.  The survey indicated that chaplains minister to families almost as much as their civilian counterparts. A 110-item questionnaire surveyed 239 clergy and 261 laity with a 66 percent overall return.  Responses indicated that both clergy and laity are open to explicit faith healing within the church if approached from a rational, critical perspective.  It appears that explicit faith healing should be a part of the church's ministry.
