The project consisted of a focus group of thirteen pastors participating in a workshop forum. A quantitative research design was used with pre and post-tests. During the Fall of 2003, students at Central Bible College voluntarily participated in a course on women in ministry. Students (one male and seven females) were surveyed at the beginning and the end of the course. Students demonstrated a significant increase in their understanding of the biblical basis for women in ministry. A seminar was facilitated to develop each participant's cognitive, affective, and behavioral readiness for ministry.  The goals of this project were to research resources relatd to preparing for God's call, to develop teaching materials to assist students in developing a vision to carry out God's call, and to equip students to carry out their call to Christian ministry.  A paired-sample T-Test was calculated to compare the mean pretest score to the mean post-test score. The statistical analysis showed that such a change took place.  The program was created to be implemented over a six-week period.  Thirty-five people attended one of three classroom presentations offered.  A pre-test and post-test format was used to measure raised awareness and motivation. The survey of Washington State congregations will seek to validate the hypothesis that the gospel is understood as in the lordship salvation tradition rather than free grace tradition.  The purpose of the research project is embedded in the question, 'what is the gospel and how is it understood by people in the pews?' In order to test the hypothesis and answer the question, this researcher did the following: developed two separate survey questionnaires, one survey for the pastors of Washington State CBA churches and one survey for the congregants of Washington State CBA churches. The two surveys were then evaluated for areas of agreement and disagreement. The analysis used to determine project impact was obtained from the post and delayed tests responses of the participants.  Results indicated that all nine participants had beneficial experiences. Research conducted identified that other Black church studies Doctor of Ministry programs may have gaps relating to collaborative efforts between the academy and practical ministry.  A survey questionnaire was used to identify the interest in participating in such a model and the structural design for the model. This single-group, pretest-posttest design analyzed quantitative and qualitative data. Participants (n=11) did show a significant gain in knowledge of ways to practice the Lord's presence.  While almost 75% of the participants provided qualitative data indicating a gain in intimacy, participants did not demonstrate significant gains in intimacy on the quantitative questions. Both pastors and experts in counseling and ministerial training evaluated the model. This study determined, through surveys, personal interviews, and observation, the processes used in the change.  The most important thing I discovered was that some pastors feel a real confusion about their leadership role in their congregations. They are finding that the model of servant leader, as they understand it, is inadequate for many situations they are facing.
