The fifty fastest growing congregations were examined. The difference between the attendence-to-baptized ratios for larger and smaller churches was .8 percent: 30.6 percent and 31.4 percent, respectively. There is no real difference in participation based on size. Approximately 32 percent of the baptized belong to the 10 percent of churches which are larger. 41 of the 50 fastest growing churches were larger churches with multiple staffs. This project documents the need for an intentional process of integration. The author contends that a change occurs both in the new member and the congregation, and the congregation must be sensitive to those changes. He proposes a model for integration and a tool for evaluation to help the maturing congregation remain sensitive.
