The Hudson Index of self-esteem was used as a pretest and posttest for two groups.  Groups A was exposed to the course which included practical instruction in hospital visitation.  Group B was exposed only to the pretest and posttest.  Fifty percent of the Group A participants experienced a signficant increase in their self-esteem level. In response to this question the author formulated 'The Inquirer's Catechism' to measure the phenomenon. Over a two year period, the author taught a series of structured catechetical courses to four groups of inquirers.  He tested all participants on their perceived faith relationships with God at the beginning and the end of the instructions with a values clarification test, a diagrammed drawing project, and a self-report questionnaire. The author analyzed the statistics and noted all the signs of transformational process.
