The project centers around the Church as symbol.  The central question is addressed in a practicum which consists of seven two-hour sessions that use the five movements of shared praxis and in thirteen faith development interviews before and after the practicum.  The interviews are conducted according to James Fowler's short interview form.  The data reveals that there is no faith development change when this model is used. During a three-month worship workshop, questionnaires and interviews were administered.  The data indicated improvements in understanding and profit from worship.  Preparation for worship was realized to be essential for true, profitable worship.  The study concludes that worship education should be included in church curriculums. In the process of this growth, a change takes place in the person's image of God.  The methodology incorporated a modified case study in which a six-item questionnaire and follow-up interview were used with selected subjects.  The population selected for sampling consisted of sixty women who had the experience of spiritual direction for at least one year.  From these sixty subjects, four were chosen for a face-to-face taped interview.  Portions of each interview are incorporated in the study.
