Subjects were exposed to five different expository sermons in the two sermon forms and their responses to a questionnaire were collected the next day (N-1,000).  There was no significant difference between the sermon forms and the subjects ability to recall the big idea.  Narrative sermons are as equally effective as propositional sermons in recall. Attitude change was determined through the use of a questionnaire that was administered prior to and following the delivery of four sermons.  A comparison of the scores indicated the attitudes of the congregation did not change.  There was evidence that the attitudes of some members did change.
