Also, Christians, without understanding that Christ is in charge of ordo salutis, are struggled with living out Christian faith. This project, based on Reformed theology that 'union with Christ' strikes a balance between historia salutis and ordo salutis and helps Christians understand that their historia and ordo salutis are assured by their union with Christ, helps preachers preach both historia salutis and ordo salutis and Christians rely on Jesus united with them for their Christian life. In order to enhance Christ-centered preaching, which has been considered as sound biblical way of preaching in Reformed tradition, two concrete issues should be regarded. First, the imbalanced preaching between historia salutis (redemption accomplished, salvation per se, indicative) and ordo salutis (redemption applied, salvation sitz im leben, imperative), even in Christ-centered preaching, can be moralistic without historia salutis or be antinomian without ordo salutis. Second, many Christians are struggled with their Christian life. Sermon without the fact that Christ is in charge of the Christian life (ordo salutis) can drive many Christians to rely on their own decision, effort, moralistic approach, humanistic approach, systematic education, etc.Reformed theology teaches that 'union with Christ' is the answer. Because 'union with Christ' is a linchpin to hold together and strike a balance between historia salutis and ordo salutis, the 'union with Christ' concept can help Christians understand that their salvation per se (historia salutis) and their life as Christian (ordo salutis) are only confirmed and assured by their union with Christ. Given, with the concept of 'union with Christ,' pastors in preaching can provide the two aspects of salvation in balance in order to give the congregation the right concept of salvation both accomplished and applied in Christ. In addition, the concept, explained and mentioned during preaching, can help congregation rely on Christ alone who provides everything they need to live out their Christian faith in their life contexts. This project, based on systematic theology in Reformed tradition, is to suggest and promote these two benefits of 'union with Christ'-centered preaching in order to enhance Christ-centered preaching."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Miscellaneous"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["4f3e9d5f-fc19-4d44-a264-44b56604eb9a"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["work_editor","public"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791126906150584320,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T06:35:27.819Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T15:43:06Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T07:34:16Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"252451c2-9405-40fa-9cca-ce213762e77d","accessControl_ssim":["95a5f2ec-67cd-4f62-8f70-4832b55beffc"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["High doctrine and broad doctrine: a qualitative study of theological distinctives and missions culture at Lakeview Baptist Church, Auburn, Alabama"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T15:43:05Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-16T23:13:34Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["c2d246c8-5aa7-4f65-8d20-7e26bc056675"],"hasLease_ssim":["79ca3318-16ac-48d5-b6c2-54fd4579e36e"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Covenant Theological Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["Bob Burns"],"year_tesim":["2007"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Jeffery S Bush"],"keyword_tesim":["Theology, Reformed","Theology, Baptist"],"publisher_tesim":["Covenant Theological Seminary"],"subject_tesim":["Lakeview Baptist Church (Auburn, Ala)","Mission of the church","Dogma, Development of"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["Lakeview Baptist Church is characterized by what C.H. The contention is that reclaiming the centrality of sacraments in worship will nurture the capacity of church members to respond more authentically and actively to issues in their lives and the social context. Writings of theologians John Calvin, Paul Tillich, Michael Polanyi, Douglas John Hall, and artists M. C. Richards, Paulus Berehnson, Catherine Kapikian, and Daniel de Montmollin, Brother of Taize, are considered. Church members, staff, and participants in More than a meal program at Idlewild Church, a program for persons who are homeless or living in compromised situations, were invited to join a series of pottery classes, resulting in nearly sixty persons working together every week, over a seven-week period, concluding with an exhibit of 652 finished pots. The final chapter of this thesis includes evaluative remarks from the Idlewild Presbyterian Church community, and specific suggestions for churches or communities who wish to establish a pottery ministry."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Wesley Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["5a6e4a36-5801-4bff-8e61-86d7489efb4a"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1799715627630329856,"timestamp":"2024-05-22T01:49:30.906Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T11:38:19Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T07:05:51Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"912f6198-f003-457f-9200-7310a11af186","accessControl_ssim":["b1fc97fd-d90a-4221-89ae-c875f116f73b"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["The Word made flesh: the practice of Reformed worship rooted in word and sacrament"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T11:38:19Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T02:22:59Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["f6a7d18f-9f08-4a6c-b739-2cf16072e144"],"hasLease_ssim":["3f751b3c-ea47-4fa4-ab3c-3067562b2333"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Columbia Theological Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["Martha L Moore-Keish"],"year_tesim":["2008"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Brian C Wyatt"],"keyword_tesim":["Theology, Reformed"],"publisher_tesim":["Columbia Theological Seminary"],"subject_tesim":["Reformed Church","Theology","Public worship--Reformed Church","Liturgics"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["According to a qualitative study conducted in one congregation, there is an awareness of the role that the sacraments of baptism and Eucharist play in relation to the Word proclaimed, and yet at the same time there is a resistance to their regular, weekly inclusion in worship.
