This thesis challenges that assumption by examining the valuable role that church leaders can, and should, play in the development process of effective expository sermons. After demonstrating from scripture the vested interest church leaders should have in the sermon, the thesis will look at indirect and direct ways church leaders can assist in the sermon development process. Traits of the generations are discovered through literature review and field research, using the grounded theory method. Second, mission is described with eight viral factors that caused the spontaneous expansion of the early church. Third, the researcher created strategies to maximize the traits of the generations by reviewing which traits are leverageable or prohibitive related to the viral factors. Generational entelechies are discovered and generational cultures are defined to build a whole-church multi-generational missional culture.
