It is articulated with conviction that the integration of faith and culture is the way to proceed in such a context. Since this project is built on practical theology, the underlying method employed is praxis-theory-praxis. Ethnographic method of participant observation is utilized not just as an anthropological method but also as a ministerial way of doing theology. The examples of church planting, leadership training, church growth, and government relationships in the history are then compared and contrasted with current missiological writings in those areas. Chapter 1 defines the subject of prayer and proves that the Bible is not only an infallible divine revelation of God's plan of redemption, but also a record of the invaluable inspirational prayers of Jesus Christ. Chapter 2 begins with the birth of the Sudan Interior Mission and substantiates its mission emphasis by prayer in West Africa. Chapter 3 examines hindrances to prevailing prayers and the Nigerian Evangelical Church of West Africa involvement with charismatic movement. Chapter 4 addresses the importance of prayer in mission and biblical imperatives of praying for mission. Prayer strategies for rapid exponential increase of church planting are also included.
