The project director explored the dynamics of Bible storying including its history, strengths and weaknesses, success stories, and usefulness as it pertains to discipleship. Using that information, the project director developed a workshop aimed at training people in the art of Bible storying. The writer assumes that learning and using scripture stories for our own meaning-making is foundational to Christian formation. Bible stories are only one tool among many for a preacher. But without the stories, there is not much for a preacher to draw upon with regards to telling a gospel metanarrative, offering a Biblical allusion or intertextual resonance. The thesis explores the preacher's process of study and sermon-writing, both hermeneutical and homiletical, and poses questions to consider in preaching narrative texts. The author researched the scriptural mandate for using biblical narratives to teach children about God, and the potential usefulness of developmental theories for children ages 7 to 11.  Participants in the project were trained according to the findings of the research.  After being trained, they taught a new curriculum that reflects the research findings.  Data from focus groups and surveys measured changes in the workers' attitudes and understandings. Based on a review of literature concerning worldview, animism, and contextualization, the project prepared, distributed, and analyzed a questionnaire among three sample groups: randomly selected residents of Luchou in Taipei County, 60 young men in the military, and 21 acquaintances of church members. From this information the project develops and presents 13 biblical storying sessions that include major characters of the Old Testament and the life and work of
