The lack of self esteem, self identity, and ethnic identity is evident today in the social and behavioral outcomes of girls. Biblical and theological framework is the imperative foundational value in human beings discovering who they are, who they belong to, who loves them, and how to live a reconciled life with God in this sinful world. In essence, positive self esteem comes first and foremost from healthy relationships with the creator and other humans."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["31b95ee0-a31c-43dc-8ec9-d97b30239a2d"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["work_editor","public"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791131236922556416,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T07:44:17.966Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T11:53:13Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T08:02:28Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"893fab4f-fdea-4833-9e4e-b43159fd263c","accessControl_ssim":["bc3316ba-b865-40d5-b207-e12e56575b56"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Essence and function: an evaluative study of the theological premise that women are equal to men in essence but permanently subordinate in fuction"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T11:53:12Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T02:09:46Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["6d975a91-0a1d-4000-8698-69cc5fc2ad7a"],"hasLease_ssim":["703b0bb4-135e-44ec-9381-629d9d2c0a18"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Western Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["Gerry Breshears"],"year_tesim":["2008"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Nancy Dianne Hedberg"],"publisher_tesim":["Western Seminary (Portland, OR)"],"subject_tesim":["Theological anthropology--Christianity--History of doctrines","Women","Theology","Equality","Biblical teaching"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["This dissertation is an evaluation of the theological premise that, while maintaining equality of essence, the Son is eternally subordinate to the Father and women are permanently subordinate to men in function. In this paper the author makes the case that equality of essence on the one hand, and permanent subordination on the other -- whether applied to the Trinity or the relationship between men and women -- is a questionable premise and is not supported logically, historically, or biblically. The author includes contemporary, historical, and biblical research regarding functional and essential equality and explores the practical implications of functional equality."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Western Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["910240dd-6bfb-49cb-ab06-1b8de036aac8"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["work_editor","public"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791132383307628545,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T08:02:31.244Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-11T21:14:51Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-05-22T02:12:26Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"8a9553a9-df33-45d2-8fe3-7bf35dec3299","accessControl_ssim":["cbd67fc6-f782-4a4d-a087-499f15d6920c"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["A study of perception of women's role within the church"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-11T21:14:46Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T02:11:58Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["99b542fb-fdde-4d1e-944b-0c0c285a86f4"],"hasLease_ssim":["fee8f586-b86e-4c01-83b4-6475c59eef36"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Phillips Theological Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["Howard Huff","Donald Capps"],"year_tesim":["1981"],"location_tesim":["Oklahoma--Edmond"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Glenn E Niebling"],"publisher_tesim":["Phillips Theological Seminary"],"subject_tesim":["Women","Sex role","Peace Lutheran Church (Edmond, Okla)","Biblical teaching","Lutheran Church","Attitude (Psychology)","Theology"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["This research project emerged from the question concerning women's role within the church.  It proposed to examine how men and women within a congregation perceived women's role in an effort to identify, clarify, and change attitudes for mutual ministry.  The vehicle for this research used a dialectical methodology of combined biblical studies and social science methods.  The expectation of the hypothesis was that significant changes in attitudes would take place.  The conclusion indicated that the participants made significnt changes in their attitudes with the resulting perception that women have a complementary and equal role to men within the church."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Phillips Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["0f3d74d9-8a9b-4580-a458-c2d78a76b977"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1799717070403796992,"timestamp":"2024-05-22T02:12:26.842Z","score":1.0}],"facets":[{"name":"resource_type_sim","items":[{"value":"Unknown","hits":3,"label":"Unknown"}],"label":"Resource Type"},{"name":"creator_sim","items":[{"value":"Glenn E Niebling","hits":1,"label":"Glenn E Niebling"},{"value":"Nancy Dianne Hedberg","hits":1,"label":"Nancy Dianne Hedberg"},{"value":"Sandra G Whitley","hits":1,"label":"Sandra G Whitley"}],"label":"Creator Sim"},{"name":"contributor_sim","items":[],"label":"Contributor"},{"name":"keyword_sim","items":[],"label":"Keyword"},{"name":"subject_sim","items":[{"value":"Biblical teaching","hits":3,"label":"Biblical teaching"},{"value":"Theology","hits":3,"label":"Theology"},{"value":"Women","hits":3,"label":"Women"},{"value":"Attitude (Psychology)","hits":1,"label":"Attitude (Psychology)"},{"value":"Equality","hits":1,"label":"Equality"},{"value":"Lutheran Church","hits":1,"label":"Lutheran Church"}],"label":"Subject"},{"name":"location_sim","items":[{"value":"Oklahoma--Edmond","hits":1,"label":"Oklahoma--Edmond"}],"label":"Location"},{"name":"language_sim","items":[{"value":"English","hits":3,"label":"English"}],"label":"Language"},{"name":"publisher_sim","items":[{"value":"New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary","hits":1,"label":"New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary"},{"value":"Phillips Theological Seminary","hits":1,"label":"Phillips Theological Seminary"},{"value":"Western Seminary (Portland, OR)","hits":1,"label":"Western Seminary (Portland, OR)"}],"label":"Publisher"},{"name":"date_created_sim","items":[],"label":"Date Created"},{"name":"types_sim","items":[{"value":"Text","hits":3,"label":"Text"}],"label":"Type"},{"name":"year_sim","items":[{"value":"1981","hits":1,"label":"1981"},{"value":"2008","hits":1,"label":"2008"},{"value":"2015","hits":1,"label":"2015"}],"label":"Year"},{"name":"format_sim","items":[],"label":"Format"},{"name":"member_of_collections_ssim","items":[{"value":"Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary","hits":1,"label":"Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary"},{"value":"Phillips Theological Seminary","hits":1,"label":"Phillips Theological Seminary"},{"value":"Western Seminary","hits":1,"label":"Western Seminary"}],"label":"Collections"},{"name":"degree_sim","items":[{"value":"Unknown","hits":3,"label":"Unknown"}],"label":"Degree"},{"name":"discipline_sim","items":[],"label":"Discipline"},{"name":"degree_granting_institution_sim","items":[{"value":"Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary","hits":1,"label":"Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary"},{"value":"Phillips Theological Seminary","hits":1,"label":"Phillips Theological Seminary"},{"value":"Western Seminary","hits":1,"label":"Western Seminary"}],"label":"Degree Granting Institution"},{"name":"department_sim","items":[],"label":"Department"},{"name":"funder_name_sim","items":[],"label":"Funder Name"},{"name":"event_title_sim","items":[],"label":"Event Title"},{"name":"event_date_sim","items":[],"label":"Event Date"},{"name":"institution_sim","items":[{"value":"Atla RIM","hits":3,"label":"Atla RIM"}],"label":"Host Institution"}],"pages":{"current_page":1,"next_page":null,"prev_page":null,"total_pages":1,"limit_value":10,"offset_value":0,"total_count":3,"first_page?":true,"last_page?":true}}}
