According to William Glasser, behavior is expressed by feeling, thinking and doing (modeled in Acts by Peter, Stephen and Paul). The project determines the compatability of the behavioral styles of one parish and one pastor by discovering the paradigmatic narrative of each. It confirms those styles by objective testing. The methodology and test instruments are offered as a manual for other pastors and parishes which seek to determine their own styles and thus their own compatibility."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Northern Baptist Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["e84517db-6a02-4e61-8d84-c85c5905f6d5"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["work_editor","public"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1799720712272871424,"timestamp":"2024-05-22T03:10:19.999Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-11T22:26:06Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T06:03:21Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"b584be78-1e6c-4ca5-a03e-dcd06d340aa6","accessControl_ssim":["11f4ca3b-71e2-4644-ae0e-c96ac642832c"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Changing fate to destiny: a local church growth group process in a textile community"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-11T22:26:05Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T03:22:20Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["d9d5ab34-2ec0-4b97-b273-d570aca81be8"],"hasLease_ssim":["637f6bfd-a241-4f48-bc26-248de8673d24"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["San Francisco Theological Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["Daniel Hawk"],"year_tesim":["1985"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["James P Rush"],"keyword_tesim":["Relation (Theology)"],"publisher_tesim":["San Francisco Theological Seminary"],"subject_tesim":["Human behavior","Church and social problems","Industrial relations","Image of God","Dependency (Psychology)","Glasser, William, 1925-2013","Economics--Religious aspects--Christianity"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["The principles of cybernetics demonstrate guidance by an automatic control system. William Glasser applied this theory to psychology. Behavior is the attempt to structure life to conform to a picture constructed from many sources. Jesus proclaimed a high quality of life as the destiny of every individual. The choice to pursue this destiny is fostered by pictures of humankind as special creations of God. Textile mills structured life to foster dependency as a means of controlling the labor force. This growth-group experiment attempts to combine the pictures of scripture with the observations of Glasser to foster destiny."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["San Francisco Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["38714359-d032-4ed0-ae3f-cb82c8f65a92"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["work_editor","public"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791124889799753728,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T06:03:24.878Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-11T22:16:09Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T06:10:25Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"f189aa4b-58b5-406f-bbe6-061804b0f24c","accessControl_ssim":["f012ff12-ca69-4187-8bfe-0d2640b2ba6d"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["A ministry of atonement in prison: with specific implications for the chaplains' treatment of prisoners"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-11T22:16:08Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T05:01:39Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["edcc9d22-574a-49c5-9a3a-25e8e76e1393"],"hasLease_ssim":["d6c38656-b01e-4dd0-af94-c1f36063e296"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["San Francisco Theological Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["Glenn E Whitlock"],"year_tesim":["1984"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Fernando Fred Venecia"],"publisher_tesim":["San Francisco Theological Seminary"],"subject_tesim":["Prison chaplains","Atonement","Responsibility","Prodigal son (Parable)","Christianity","Experience (Religion)","Glasser, William, 1925-2013"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["This investigation is based on the need for a viable approach to a ministry of atonement in prison that emphasizes human responsibility in the transformation of negative experiences into agents of atonement.
