A church planter must consider all the various ethnic groups represented throughout his target area to determine how to reach them with the gospel.  The project director will research various church planting strategies, especially those strategies targeted toward multiethnic communities. The author researched how significant organizational change occurred during merger and what was learned.  The change occurred when the congregations experienced unfreezing, learning, and refreezing around a new identity.  St. Andrew and St. John members experienced significant learning that contributed to the success of the merger. The parallel and reciprocity inspiring implementation of a six-session course on our history and an international, interracial local church partnership strengthened our identity as a community of faith in both the local and global sense. Surveys of participants (and interviews with other congregations engaged in partnership) reveal deepened historical understanding, grappling with the tension of faith and affluence, spiritual awakening and
