Shalom is defined in its usage as a biblical, theological, and homiletical motif.  Ten key points are offered for preaching shalom to Congregations of Civility without the preacher becoming alienated from such congregations. Preaching the stories of shalom is then examined as an effective means of fulfilling these ten key points, and four sample sermons are offered which incorporate this technique.
