Statistical data was collected for over 600 churches in the Baltimore-Washington Conference of The United Methodist Church for the years 1974 to 2014. Graphs were generated that plotted average worship attendance for that range of years for each of those churches and, concurrently, the pastoral leadership of those churches. This project found a decrease in average worship attendance for the Conference, but also found evidence of vitality in many congregations and pastors. The author studied the actual ministry contribution of the women in one agency, the obstacles they face and the needs they have.  Women comprise over half of this organization, yet their contributions to the work of God's kingdom on earth are largely unknown, even within their own agency.  The study discusses a number of factors that play into this invisibility, including women's lack of representation in the leadership structure of the mission. This study examines the efforts of a congregation to interpret its history as part of its 150th anniversary celebration, and to link this journey with the individual faith journeys of its members.
