The end product of this project is a manual that can be used by seminary students, by pastors wishing to enhance their preaching proficiency, and by teachers of homiletics who want to teach the skills needed to prepare relevant miracle stories sermons, especially in Chinese-Indonesian context. The second section of this thesis-project addresses the theological framework of miracle stories of the gospels. The third section addresses the literature reviews. The fourth section of the thesis-project is the manual itself, which addresses the practical concerns of how to prepare and deliver miracle stories of the gospels sermons. The manual found in section four is based on the principles of expository preaching developed by Haddon W. Robinson in his book Biblical preaching. Guided imagery prayer can heal the shame women feel. The process used was a spiritual retreat for women. They were led in guided imagery meditations of four healing stories of Jesus: the healing of the bent-over woman (Luke 13:10-17); the healing of Jairus' daughter (Mark 5:21-24a,35-43); the woman who had been bleeding for twelve years (Mark 5:24-34); and the woman at the well (John 4:4-30). After each exercise they participated in a discussion about their experience. The retreat was a positive experience for each woman. Some of them felt healing that day. Few of them continued to use the meditations by themselves after the retreat. The project also researched the writings of the major Princeton theologians: Alexander, the Hodges, and Warfield, noting the many references they made to the elements of power encounter.  The Princetonians wrote from a Reformed and exegetical perspective.  The author concludes that the Princetonians offer much needed biblical counsel regarding power encounter.  Miracles are not denied; but, miraculous gifts are refuted for the post-apostolic church upon biblical grounds.  Great care must be taken in verifying alleged miracles.
