The project director used the strategy development model. The project director began by researching risk management and strategy formation. Upon completion of the research phase, the project director selected a risk management team and developed a three-session teaching curriculum designed to educate the team on risk management and strategy development. The result was a functioning team that focused on developing a risk management strategy to minimize risk for the First Baptist Church of Live Oak. This project provided participants with an understanding of: (1) the risk of child sexual abuse (CSA) occurring within the church context; (2) the effects of CSA on the victims and their families and the church; and (3) the biblical motivation for safeguarding minors who participate in the church's ministries. Upon completion of the research phase, the project director developed a curriculum of complete lesson plans and teaching material consisting of four training sessions to equip the team on risk management. The participants were evaluated before, during and after the study.
