The author's method of study includes educated sources such as theological commentaries, lexicons, secular and religious reference books, journals, newspapers, the internet and personal interviews. The conclusion the author reaches is that the debate centered on biblical interpretation of scripture is subjective to one's Christian faith persuasion. The biblically orthodox Christian faith belief opposes homosexuality and supports the traditional family value system. The unorthodox Christian viewpoint favors a revisionist theology that redefines homosexual practice as ordained by God and therefore morally acceptable. This research project used both quantitaive and qualitative methods to determine the effect of premarital counseling combined with a couple-to-couple mentoring emphasizing self-disclosure and communication. The participants were couples who were members of the Churches of Christ and who claimed they were virgins before their marriage date. The author asked how to help in recovering intimacy among elderly couples through a sexuality-centered education program.  With nine couples aged sixty-five years or older, the seminar was conducted over three days of intensive retreat. All the participants' responses were very positive and productive. This lack of integrity has contributed to a multitude of dysfunctional clergy. Sexual immorality is not predicated on race, gender, status, personality, or intelligence and is ultimately the minister's choice. Evaluating the effectiveness of the curriculum couples completed the Dyadic Adjustment scale, the Confidence Scale, the Relationship Scale, and the Marital Satisfaction Inventory, Revised. Sexual addiction is a compulsive disorder. Sexual fantasy introduces chemical changes in the human body, producing a semieuphoric state of lust that afterwards gives way to shame. The project offers testing and counseling--including the rituals of confession, the means of grace, and preaching--for 14 persons enrolled in a recovery program for sexual addiction. Christian couples age 25-54, married 1.5-31 years, are assigned to concurrent groups for husbands and wives, while wives from the same sample are assigned to a group for women only. After considering biblical teaching on human sexuality, marriage, and family from an evangelical perspective, the project studies the morality of spiritual leaders in ancient Israel and the apostolic church. In order to understand why contemporary spiritual leaders succumb to sexual temptation, the project investigates the character of contemporary society, the contributions of contemporary psychology, and the marriages of these leaders, drawing on surveys of contemporary marriage and family life conducted by Christianity Today Institute (1992), Evangelical Fellowship of Canada (1994), and the project survey of pastors in the United Baptist Convention of the Atlantic Provinces (1995). Psychological insights also inform an effort to determine why some women become victims of sexual misbehavior by spiritual leaders. The project selected 12 women ages 24 to 60, constructed a questionnaire, and administered it to members of the group in a 90-minute interview.  Responses were collated, analyzed, and reviewed with reference to psychological theory, church teaching on human sexuality, and criteria that define a basic or deepening level of psychosexual integration.  The project found that family and church are formative influences, along with mother-daughter relationships and the quality of core messages received in the earliest formative years. Inner healing, healthy sexuality, and spiritual growth require that men resolve inner conflicts resulting from fear of intimacy and mutuality in relationships, anger and abuse of power and persons, and contemporary male role expectations.  This project proposes that the local church should be the primary setting for this work in the lives of men of faith. Research of current literature and resources identified critical issues for male sexuality and masculine spirituality.  Workshop sessions addressed several of these issues in three local church retreats for men.
