Through the change of evangelical ethos and attitude, the EFC has a pressing opportunity to present the gospel to an audience who believes in a system of social cohesiveness dependent upon personal virtue and self-control. For Confucius and the Confucian Chinese, society's harmony relies upon the appropriate behavior (li) of each individual within the social hierarchy. As Ernest restores the bridge he muses taht a bridge is not perhaps the first thing a man would build, but it surely is the first thing a neighborhood would build. This musing reflects Berry's understanding that in order for a community to be healthy, connections must be enacted between all members of a membership: human, non-human, and the place itself. The three relational aspects that connect the members of community are mutuality, responsibility, and affection. In an ever individualized culture, where those in a place are isolated from each other, College of Ozarks can benefit from Berry as he informs its practiced mission by helping their students learn the need to build bridges consisting of mutuality, responsibility, and affection, while teaching them the ethic of good work."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Covenant Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["e57e5218-1d34-47f5-b1a5-b84efbc9e61f"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791131040083869696,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T07:41:10.245Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T12:47:58Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-05-22T03:17:33Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"95cbe126-c599-4e34-a95b-175545a28d66","accessControl_ssim":["58d9f30c-a4ce-4e68-9fec-e8bb96020669"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Bridging the theological divide: one woman's journey"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T12:47:57Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T02:31:03Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["f966ffc5-2e68-4dd8-91aa-d63bc558fde0"],"hasLease_ssim":["41b135c7-a9a8-4dfd-b5da-ffacffab66af"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Doctor of Ministry"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Wesley Theological Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["Lewis A Parks"],"year_tesim":["2009"],"resource_type_tesim":["D.Min.
