However, there is little in the literature that acknowledges grief as spiritual in nature and it is notable how seldom parents engage, or are engaged by, faith communities as they grapple with their faith concerns.  From interviews of eight bereaved mothers of a perinatal loss, three key spiritual concerns are identified and discussed: faith crisis, isolation, and forgetting. They completed personal and professional history questionnaires and were interviewed about their responses to infant death.  This project interprets the results from the viewpoint of Personal Construct Theory to develop a template--that is, a framework of questions that a pastoral caregiver may use when giving pastoral care to nurses dealing with infant death.  Two case studies are included.
