Its biblical and historical antecedents are found respectively in the New Testament ecclesia and in John Wesley's ministry of evangelism in eighteenth century England.  This comprehensive ministry includes three elements: a sound theological foundation, a strong faith-serving ministry, and a well organized faith-sharing ministry, which, when in place, can improve the evangelism ministries of Caribbean congregations. The primary goal was to teach a course entitled 'Caribbean cults' for two weeks to Caribbean students at Barbados Baptist College.  The thirteen class members defined 'cult,' gathered resources and information about the cults, outlined the information by a given format, and increased their witnessing skills to cult members.
