In addition, the author developed a questionnaire which was completed by 150 ministers, who served in Chinese house churches. The author also conducted in-dept interviews with 3 senior theological educators to have them share their teaching expectations on theological education. Through a survey, 90% of the churches have some common needs: full time co-workers, being good witnesses, knowing how to evangelize, and adult Sunday school. These problems are mainly related to the lack of Bible teaching and discipleship training. The result shows that proceeding with teaching of personal evangelism and training bears important influence on the growth of believers. The Timothy Three Step Discipleship Training makes a 'seeker' gradually becoming a trainer of others through a 'two way' training relationship. The primary skills taught and practiced are the discovery and development of the big idea of a biblical passage. The first seminary guides students through the process of identifying the subject and complement of a biblical text and developing them into the big idea. The second seminar focuses on preaching the big idea with contemporary relevance and applying big idea preaching to different genres of the Bible. The workshop discovers similarities in human nature, life experiences, feelings, and needs between Western and Eastern traditions. Different traditional theological methods have one goal: to understand living human documents and meet human pastoral needs.
