This was a descriptive study of cross sectional design in the nonexperimental mode with numerous variables operating simultaneously. The study was a descriptive, correlational study utilizing researcher-designed questionnaires and closing interviews.  Congregational members from ten evangelical churches located in the two largest cities in Kenya, Nairobi and Mombasa, responded to a twelve-question congregational survey.  Fifty-four leaders responded to a sixteen-question pastoral and leadership survey.  Closing interviews with ten pastors added greater insight into the perception of the significance of biblical preaching to church growth.
