First, the project director investigated the Haitian demographics of Everett, Massachusetts, to determine the corresponding profile in two steps: compiling the data and evaluating the community. Then, the project director explored existing revitalization strategies to identify best practices by looking into similar revitalization strategies from literature and other church practices. Furthermore, the project director developed a revitalization strategy for SHBC by selecting and training a team and establishing a revitalization strategy. The project director used the strategy planning model. The project director investigated existing disciple-making strategies popularized by Southern Baptist and non-Southern Baptist evangelical organizations as well as lesser-known programs in discipleship. The project director completed a systems audit by examining case studies of church members whose lives have changed significantly through discipleship. The project director studied the disciple-making strategies already used and currently in use at Antioch Baptist Church to reach college students in Boston, resulting in an organizational profile. The program director enlisted a team and held sessions to analyze the various discipleship programs and synthesize the most effective elements into a single unified strategy for disciplemaking. That is, it should be seen as (1) a radical change in thought, perspective, commitments, and practice, involving an overt or subconscious break with one's past identity (ie, 'conversion'), (2) a new perception and a marked change in form or appearance, but not necessarily a break with the past (ie 'transformation'), (3) a change in outlook and practice, but without any distancing from the past (ie 'alternating' ), or simply (4 ) a call to a new career or a particular pursuit (ie 'call')?To what extent has the connection between the Pneumatologically experience of the Apostle Paul and the modern exponents of the preaching of the gospel been lost? Social analysis, study of urban Christian literature, relevant biblical texts, hexagoning and implementing ministries around the felt needs of urban Christian leaders were the methodology.  This research reveals that churches in Boston and Springfield are multiplying. Evangelical communities have become fragmented due to a number of destructive behaviors. The result is that a convergence of powerful stresses in directly harming the Brazilian community. Despite the diversity of beliefs and practices, many Brazilian immigrants have been sustained in the displacement and adaptation to American society by regular church attendance.  However, many have burned out. There is a dearth of research addressing addiction and spiritual abuse among members of Brazilian Christian Churches.  The goal of this thesis is to explore and clearly identify how this spiritual abuse has occurred, what its impacts on the community are and to suggest some approaches to heal the victims. First, the paper examines some of the root causes of dysfunction in Brazilian churches. Second, a review of pertinent literature on understanding Brazilians and their faith is presented. Third, systems thinking is used to determine the current level of dysfunction and abuse in order to identify strategies for healing. Using my experiences as Area Minister, I explore some of the major barriers we need to overcome in order to create multicultural churches.
