Chapter one defines the structure of the project, the purpose and research methodology. Chapter two traces the beginning of evangelical mission in Nigeria from its beginning in 1850 up to 1997, and analyzes its methods, strategies and philosophies. Chapter three examines the socio-economic and political influences that affected Nigerian Christianity, dividing its history into four epochs.  Chapter four looks at the ecclesiastical influences of the Nigerian church and its missions.  Chapters five and six spell out the recommendations for improving the mission program. The Nigerian Yoruba cultural potential for rapid and extensive growth is already in place but mostly neglected by church members and by their clergy alike.
