Utilizing the equipping model, the project director equipped selected members of Covenant Baptist Church with the necessary skills to make personal spiritual intimacy practices an integral part of their relationship with God. The project director researched the field of spiritual disciplines and determined essential personal spiritual intimacy practices: Bible reading, prayer, and solitude. The project director developed a curriculum that was designed to take the selected group of church members through an equipping workshop. He evaluated the effectiveness of the workshop in addressing the cognitive, psychomotor, and affective domains of learning utilizing a pretest, a posttest, a self-report questionnaire, and an opportunity for reflections. I first determined MCBC’s current discipleship practices by means of a Spiritual Growth Assessment and then compared those current practices with existing discipleship strategies to identify the best discipleship practices. I then created a strategy team composed of church members of various ages and their purpose was to discover the best discipleship strategy for the church based on the best discipleship practices identified. The strategy was thenpresented before the church for approval.
