This is not a retreat but a strategy to establish themselves in the host country and church.  Becoming Vietnamese Americans, they can integrate successfully into and contribute greatly to American society and the church. Theologically supported, the model used education, communication, and social psychology disciplines. Classes, discussions, and social activities over five months formed the model. Caucasian church members, ethnic adherents, and unchurched ethnics of the local community participated.  It was effective for increasing ethnic growth in the church. Increased cultural knowledge and understanding motivated Caucas to ethnic outreach.
