Many of these churches are in a declining status, often due to the removal of the historic gospel from the pulpits. It will take preaching the historic gospel of Jesus Christ from the pulpit once again to revitalize these churches. Towards that end, this project was undertaken to help cast a vision for revitalizing mainline churches and to encourage evangelical pastors to consider pursuing pulpits in mainline churches, to replant the gospel seed, and to revitalize these churches in order to reach communities for Christ. This thesis is targeted at church replanters and church replanter coaches. In response to the problem the researcher studied themes of leadership in the Scripture and in relevant contemporary literature.  He then investigfated these themes in operation by interviewing twelve present or former ministry leaders and the leadership boards at five large Hmong churches in the United States.  From this study the researcher identified seven factiors associated with effective leadership among the Hmong church. The project director facilitated the development of a disciple-making strategy with a group of selected church leaders. This study focused on three key areas that affect how pastors minister to the parents of apostate emerging adults: the religious lives of emerging adults, biblical and theological concerns regarding baptism, apostasy, and covenantal status of children, and policies churches have employed to minister to apostate young adults and their parents. This study utilized a qualitative design using semi-structured interviews with Reformed pastors in the Northwestern United States.
