As a result, there has been an increase in the number of volunteers who perform ministerial roles once reserved to religious professionals. These volunteers often have not received the spiritual formation of their professional predecessors. Drawing from the U.S.C.C.B. document Co-Workers in the Vineyard of the Lord, the author has created a program of spiritual formation for parish lay volunteers. The main thrust and purpose of this project is through analyzing actual events by employing the four D's framework, namely difference, disagreement, disappointment and distrust, in the backdrop of Chinese culture, to extract practical biblical lessons so as to avoid the conflicts at the source. The director translated the Passion Harmony into 'everyday language,' led a seven-part Bible study, and preached a sermon series utilizing the 'new text.' Participants and congregants evaluated the Bible studies and sermons to assess the effectiveness of the presentations. This thesis will introduce a new paradigm for understanding the issue by incorporating the dimensions of demographics and church organizational development. These factors determine in part the potential range of English Ministry development in the Chinese immigrant church. Solutions to mitigate tensions are based on the concept of formulating appropriate expectations that are specific to the church's developmental stage. The author gathered several role-playing gamers, both Christian and not, and gauged their perceptions of topics related to both church and gaming before and after participating in such a role-playing campaign. American and biblical plans for church planting will be compared. The distinctive challenges of New England for first and second generation Cambodian church planting will be observed. These challenges will then be addressed by building 'bridges' which create partnerships with individuals, families, churches and the community at large. An analysis was done of the practice in Nebraska from 2000 to 2009. The knowledge and skill sets required by the General Board of Higher Education and Ministry of the United Methodist Church nationally were also analyzed. The current Nebraska practices and the national sets recommended were compared to best practice as seen in entry level seminary preaching courses.
